The pivots and the spherical joint are made in high-stregth steel and are treated on the surface in order to resist to wears. The pivots till size 60.40 are assembled directly in the fork wings through a special process and they move in the spherical joint which represents the central nugget of the joint. This allows a wider area of articulation than the one in the forkwings. Therefore, we have a better torque transmission and a more reduced wear of the pivots and of their rotation seats. For the bigger sizes the pivots move in the hardened sleeves, which are inserted in the wings, and are blocked in the central joint.
