At the core of the system is a double-walled rotation drum made of stainless steel. As a result of the eccentric suspension, the drum carries out a tumbling movement, which contributes to careful and homogeneous mixing and therefore extremely gentle treatment of the filled product. Adhesions and clumps are thereby essentially ruled out. The distinct avoidance of wear and tear particularly ensures optimum treatment results with amorphous, sensitive products. Heating and cooling take place through a double shell and an additional star-shaped heating plat system. Through this, the process is significantly shortened, compared with conventional drying systems. Furthermore, the configuration guarantees processing within very narrow temperature ranges, which influences the quality of the end product significantly. The configuration of the heating plates is selected such that the cleaning of the inner drum is possible without any problem, in case of a possible product change, e.g. from polyester to nylon. This is an important advantage in comparison to other heating systems. Baked on products between heating processes are avoided. Heat exchange oil is usually used as a heating medium in the drum. Temperatures of up to 250˚C are possible with this. Heating with hot water is also possible. All systems are designed according to a modular principle. OHL supplies systems from 15 litres for laboratories and technology, right up to 44 m3 for industrial systems.
