With spray deaerators, the heating steam flows over the laterally arranged steam supports into the deaerators. Spray nozzles spray the feed water in fine drops. In the spray zone, the water is nearly heated to saturation temperature and then deaerated. Special piston spray heads are used as spray nozzles. Through spring-actuated control, they ensure that the pressure on the spray nozzle remains sufficiently high for effective distribution, with diverse quantities of feed water.
