Our SmartHeat® PowerTipsTM technology is designed to address the high thermal demands of lead-free alloys and other high thermal demand applications. In concert with our SmartHeat® technology, we have enhanced both the heater efficiency and thermal transfer characteristics of our tip designs. This allows the soldering tips to deliver a significant increase in thermal performance without resorting to the conventional approach of increasing tip idle temperatures, thereby, providing leading thermal performance, process control and eliminating the risk of thermal damage.

Whether you're using a Metcal soldering system that you have had for years, or a new model OK International system, all of these units are relevant for lead-free and have a range of SmartHeat® PowerTipsTM available. Using SmartHeat® PowerTipsTM means changing to lead-free can be cost effective and doesn't necessarily require replacing soldering systems.
