To handle the volumes of air traffic resulting from the increasing demand for air travel, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has proposed a new plan for Communications, Navigation and Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM), which is being introduced around the world.
Its backbone will be the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) that will seamlessly connect aircraft, air traffic control and airline operations facilities. Oki is developing infrastructure elements for ATN, such as ATN router and end systems.
