High voltage fuse link (HV fuse links) are intended for protection of high voltage consumers (lines, transformers, motors, capacitors, switching devices etc.) against thermal and dynamic effects which are caused by the current which exceeds the permitted value in regards amplitude and duration.
The medium voltage fuses are manufactured with dimensions according to DIN 43625 and suitable to be mounted on fuse-bases according to DIN 43624 as well on on-load switches.
They comply with IEC 282-1 and CEI 32-3 standards for high rupting capacity fuses, and are mainly used for short circuit protection in medium voltage installations.
The striker pin they are equipped with, further of blow-out indication, operates as device for tripping the associated circuit breaker the load-switch. Owing to the low price, simple maintenance and small dimensions the HV fuse links are the good solution in cases where the other sorts of protection would mean a too high expenditure compared to the price of the whole system.
