OMG Zanoletti
The versatility of the product will allow to perform turning, boring, milling, and grinding operations and the possibility of additional saddles with Y axis and milling units. The project has pursued the maximum modularity of the core elements of the machines and, thanks to OMG Zanoletti forty years experience, it has given particular attention to ergonomics and ease of use of the machine. In this sense, it’s important the accommodation of the chips conveyor without any excavation in the floor, making easy the cleaning and maintenance of it.
Another practical element is the total absence of chains on the floor and by air avoiding the encumbrance to the operator. The positioning of the chains under appropriate protections it guarantees maximum durability. Great emphasis was placed in the design of structural elements of the machine. The bed is equipped with large guides of hardened and ground steel with 60 HRC hardness and it has a great width to support large steady rests without interference with the saddle.
The head, with external gear box for an easy maintenance, has within it a series of gears properly sized to use the full engine torque. The spindle in the NiCrMo forged steel, tempered and ground is supported by bearings that provide up to 30 tonnes between the centers. The tailstock has a spindle supported by bearings and the load cell to ensure the necessary pressure.
