Description

Modulated diode lasers with 100% modulation depth for scientific and OEM use
The diode lasers of the Bluephoton® / Greenphoton® / Redphoton® TA Deepstar® Series are temperature-stabilized lasing diode modules with modulation inputs for up to 150 MHz digital modulation (On/Off) and up to 15 MHz analog modulation (power control) with 100% modulation capability. Since diode lasers, which are capable of modulation, are usually modulated between the laser threshold and their maximum power, diode lasers also still emit some laser power and/or fluorescent light in the Off moment. Since this residual lighting cannot be tolerated for applications such as confocal microscopy or microlithography, the TA Deepstar® technology was developed, which eliminates this residual light and enables modulation depths of > 2.500.000:1. The digital modulation input can be implemented either as 0 1 V / 50 Ohm RF input or as TTL input. The digital trigger level (switching threshold) is programmable in 1 millivolt increments. The analog modulation input can be adapted to customer preferences both in its voltage, as well as in its impedance value. (0 5 V, standard 1 kOhm). The extremely short rise and fall times of the digital modulation of <1 ns (nanoseconds) enable precise switching of the laser light in extremely fast processes. Through the possibility of fast analog modulation with up to 15 MHz @ -3 dB, the laser can furthermore carry out very fast power variations. As a result of their intelligent laser controller with interface RS-232, these lasers can be integrated seamlessly into applications and controlled.
