They are used for special machining on vertical and horizontal spindle grinding machines (i.e. dovetails, slideways, diets etc..). Surface grinding machines (next to the main spindle), milling-planing machines or transfer machines are often equipped with these electroheads. Great powers are then used on surface grinders (face grinding with segmental wheels).
