The combination of two plant systems into a compact unit results, in addition to saving building area, in advantages from the cost and operational aspects. For example, the dual function of the plant only calls for one flocculent dosage unit, one switch cabinet, as well as one feed pump for the alternating operation thickening or direct dewatering.
If onliy thickening takes place, the concentrated sludge can bei evacuated by a thick sludge pump after having passed through the Passavant FluX-Drain. If dewatering subsequently takes place, the sludge will further dewatered and pressed with the Passavant FluX-Press.
