PMD's ION Digital Drives are compact, fully enclosed, all-digital motion control modules that provide power amplification and network connectivity for DC brush, brushless DC or step motors. Using state-of-the art MOSFET technology and PMD's flexible and powerful instruction set, these motion control modules deliver very high power density in a rugged, flexible form factor. ION performs profile generation, servo compensation, stall detection, field oriented control, digital torque control and many other motion control functions. The single axis ION drive is based on the Magellan Motion Control IC and provides CANBus or serial communications. It is ideal for medical, scientific, semiconductor, automation, industrial and robotic applications.
