Locking carabiner PETZL SECURITE
The essential link in any safety system
Connectors vary according to their shape, size and locking system. The size of the gate opening determines what they can be clipped to.
Aluminum carabiners are made of an alloy ensuring an excellent strength to weight ratio. Since they are lightweight and will not interfere with progression, they can be used on harnesses, at the end of a lanyard or to construct temporary anchors.
The heavier steel connectors are most often used in anchor systems. Quick links can be left in place for extended periods of time.
The Petzl difference
1- 2- Manual or automatic locking
Petzl offers two types of locking systems:
- manual, which requires the user to lock the gate closed,
- automatic, which automatically locks the gate closed.
The automatic locking system is recommended for carabiners that are used frequently.
The manual system is recommended for dirty environments (mud, ice).
3- Keylock System
All aluminum Petzl carabiners use the Keylock system. The body / gate interface does not have a hook that could snag on anchors, ropes, harnesses, etc.
4- Different shapes for different uses
Symmetrical, small or large pear-shaped or D-shaped, each form corresponds to a specific use: to connect a device to a harness, attach a pulley or to use at the end of a lanyard, etc.
