The Fastcam SA5 provides blistering fast speed, unmatched light sensitivity and true 12-bit performance. Capable of over 7,500 mega pixel (1K x 1K) frames per second (fps) and reduced resolution in excess of one million fps, the brand new CMOS sensor provides true twelve bit pixel depth/dynamic range with sub-microsecond shuttering.

Building on the experience gained with the EMMY award winning ultima APX and ultima APX-RS cameras, the Fastcam SA5 provides the greatest color fidelity of any high speed camera available, thanks to true 12-bit performance. The FASTCAM SA5 provides the perfect tool for those looking for mega pixel resolution at true high speeds, as well as those demanding sensitivity and performance with an SDI digital output for TV/movie and commercial work.

The Fastcam SA5 is available with three memory options:
- Eight Gigabytes for 5.5 seconds record duration at full resolution 1,000 fps.
- Sixteen Gigabytes for 1.5 seconds at mega pixel resolution at 7,500 fps.
- Thirty two Gigabytes for over twenty one seconds record duration at 1K fps and full resolution.

The Fastcam SA5 is available with a 5" LCD equipped keypad, making computer-free setup and operation easy. Rear panel BNC connectors provide users with both composite video (NTSC or PAL) as well as SDI (720i) outputs.

The super-fast shutter and 225ns time between two frames make the Fastcam SA1 ideal for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) works while precise synchronization mean it's ideal for Digital Image Correlation (DIC) and ballistics research.
