Acoustic sensor
30 - 300 kHz, 106 dB | PK series
Physical Acoustics
Our new PK series of AE Sensors are small, very low noise and low power AE sensors, which have been designed for our newer, low power, portable and battery operated products such as our Pocket AE, wireless, and Sensor Highway Systems.
These sensors are very small, and similar in size to our Alpha series of sensors, adding an internal preamplifier with responses very similar to our popular line of RXXI (e.g. R3I, R6I, R15I, R30I and WDI) Integral Preamplifier sensors. They use 6 times lower power then the RXXI family of sensors as well. The PK sensors are built in a strong stainless steel, integrated body structure and low noise design.
Auto Sensor Test (AST*) is built-in, allowing these sensors to pulse (using a high energy pulsing scheme) as well as receive. This feature lets you verify the sensor coupling and performance at any time before, during or after the test. The family consists of PK3I, PK6I, PK15I, PK30I and PKWI, each corresponding to the same numbering scheme as the RXXI family. In addition, the PK-I family of sensors is lower in cost than the RXXI family. Note: These sensors are not compatible with AE systems that currently use the RXXI family of sensors due to the different voltage levels required.
Applications
The PK family of sensors has been designed to be used with the Pocket AE, wireless, and Sensor Highway II Systems. The preamplifier is matched with these systems to provide the standard dBae amplitude range.
* Used when space and weight is the key consideration
* Small aperature for wideband applications
* Various frequency models to choose from
