Stretch hood is a new system for the automatic covering of pallets, which does not require the heat retraction of film. This is a highly elastic material that is initially stretched using echanical clamps and returns to its original size after being applied on the pallets, fitting perfectly to the shape of the object to be protected. The balance between the holding force, the resistance to perforation and the elasticity of the hood allows a perfect stability and protection of the load. It is an innovative system that offers an improved packaging resistance against atmospheric agents and a very good aesthetic quality without any type of creases. Compared to the same structure in shrink film, the stretch hood offers the opportunity to reduce the thickness and the size of the tubular; in this way, the quantity of film used per pallet is lower than usual and the packaging costs are reduced. Plastotecnica can also offer stretch hoods in smaller sizes for special applications on demi-pallets, which are used for the beverage industry, electrical household goods and furniture sectors. All the products can be personalised with different printing and colouring; on request, the products can be also UV stabilized for 6 or 12 months.
