Analog displacement sensor POSIC SA
POSIC presents a new type of inductive position sensor for the measurement of gears, disks and linear bands. The IS2201 sensor consists of a differential microcoil transformer that is integrated on a silicon chip together with the associated electronics, leading to an extremely robust and very compact sensor.
The differential inductive sensor has a high immunity against magnetic and electromagnetic perturbations, does not need a bias-magnet and works with ferromagnetic (iron, nickel) as well as with electrically conducting (aluminum, copper, brass) gears and discs. These features make the microcoil sensor ideally suited for applications where magnetic sensors fail or show reliability problems.
Typical applications are in the motion control domain with magnetic actuators like brushed and brushless motors, voice coil actuators etc. Markets served include industrial, automotive, robotics, medical, instrumentation and office equipment.
The IS2201 sensor comes in the form of a 8.7 x 6.2 mm PCB with two half-holes for alignment/fixation, ready for assembly in e.g. an electric motor or an industrial machine.
The IS2201 sensor as well as the corresponding evaluation kit are available from stock.
