Latest Protech IPC combines multi-serial communications with energy efficient CPU, extended OS support
Extending serial-based communication and energy efficiency to industrial and embedded computing, Protech Systems Co., Ltd., the leading provider of industrial computers, recently released the EPC-8611F system featuring the latest Intel® Celeron® M Ultra-Low Voltage processor with 1 GHz core speed and the Intel® 852GM chipset with Intel® ICH4 I/O hub. Designed to run on Windows® XP/XP Embedded/2000/CE and Linux operating systems, the EPC-8911F supports up to one Gigabyte of system memory using a DDR266 SODIMM and up to six serial ports in customizable RS232 and RS422/485 configurations.
Delivering speeds of up to 115 Kbps for RS232 and up to 921 Kbps for RS422/485 ports, the EPC-8611F brings enhanced connectivity for high-speed data communications. The RS485 port is equipped with an auto-flow control feature that speeds up data transfers and eliminates data over-run or under-run problems.
