Instrument for determining crankshaft web deflection PRÜFTECHNIK Alignment
Revolution in checking crankshaft web deflection
CSDchek® is an electro-optical measurement system using a single-laser-beam technology to determine the web deflection of crankshafts.
The integrated electronic inclinometer and the utilization of the worldwide unique continuous SWEEP measurement mode increase the accuracy of the measured results. With the conventional five-point method, the crankshaft rotation is generally stopped at predefined positions. This leads to sag in the crankshaft at the bearings, hence influencing the deflection readings; in other words, results are determined with the crankshaft in a status far removed from its condition during operation. Using CSDchek® with continuous SWEEP, web deflection is measured during crankshaft rotation. A rotation of only 60° is enough to obtain reliable results of the web deflection – continuous rotation proving additionally to be a real time saver. Wireless data acquisition, using RF technology ensures safe data transfer and minimizes the sources of possible errors. Automatic report saving and an integrated resume function helps avoid unnecessary re-measuring and loss of data.
In summary, CSDchek® provides following main benefits to the user:
• Precision and increased reliability in results
• Reduced time needed for measurement and the following analysis of results
• Reduction of possible sources of error
• Complete documentation in digital form and reporting of results
• Ease of use
