PC-based camera systems are an interesting alternative to intelligent industrial cameras. The large range of different camera models allows customtailored
image processing solutions, as single or multi-camera system. Our program comprehends monochrome and colour cameras as well as area and line scan cameras. Practically there is no limit set concerning the definition of the parameters resolution, operating speed and number of interfaces.
As the processing unit is situated outside of the camera, pc-based
cameras are smaller than intelligent cameras, which is advantageous for
mounting in (moving) applications. PC-based camera systems are used
amongst others for code reading, OCR or for measuring components
and assemblies.
