The Quelltech Q4 Laser Scanners can provide the inspection of welded and brazed seams. The Laser Scanner will be mounted closed after the welding process so immediate action can be taken in case of an error. The inspection data will be stored and documented for quality assurance purposes

Multi Layer seam guiding

Die Q4 Laser Scanner are also beeing used for the optimal positioning in multylayer seam welding situations.

With the positioning of seams for multylayer seam welding it is necessary to check after each layer the remaining available space for the next seam. The software will check how many seams can be positioned in the layer and can also determine hiw many layers will be posible for the available gap.

Laser Scanner can lead the torch

V-gap and butt joint
A butt joint or V-gap tracking system follow the measuerd Laser profile. Each deviation to a user preset reference point in all 3 axis will be calculated and outputted as correction value to the axis control system or robot. Since the scanner head is leading the torch, there will be an offset integrated into the correction signals. It is possible to track butt joints doen to a gap of 30 µm.
