The Q-Scope 400 combines the same scanner used in the Q-250/350 models with a large-sample rotary translation stage. The Q400 has been designed for three specific markets: 1. CD/DVD manufacturers (Industry specific analysis software to check each manufacturing step from the glass master to the replica. Automatic measurement of length, width, height and all four sidewall angles of every pit/bump in a scan. T3-T11 analysis, track pitch, etc.) 2. Magnetic disk manufacturers (polishing and planarization of each step and the magnetic bit pattern of finished product) 3. Semiconductor manufacturers (Incoming wafer Q/A and defect analysis.) Mounted on the top of the Q400 translation stage is an 8” diameter vacuum chuck. This firmly holds disk samples in place while they are scanned. The Q400 is also equipped with an Acoustic/Vibration Isolation Chamber to insulate the microscope from room noise. Optional centering pins and hubs are available for CD/DVD and wafer applications. The ScanAtomic software includes a special stage-control component for the Q400 which makes it possible to automatically scan and store the images of up to 24 locations on a surface.
