Intrinsically safe electrical safety barrier
CNB-2
Quest Measurement Inc
The Quest Measurement Intrinsically Safe CNB-2 (Conduit Nipple Barrier) utilizes Zener Diode technology. The Barrier can be utilized as an Associated Apparatus for simple systems such as point switches etc for Hazardous areas.
NOTES:
1) Installation shall comply with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) Part I Sec.18 and/or NFPA National Electrical Code Article 504.
2) The CNB-2 must not be connected to any device that uses or generates internally any voltage in excess of 250 volts RMS AC or DC unless the device has been determined to adequately isolate the voltage from the CNB-2.
3) The I.S. Ground requires connection to a suitable ground electrode. The resistance of the ground path must be less than 1 ohm.
4) When cable parameters are unknown, it is acceptable to use 60 pF/ft for capacitance and 0.20 uH/ft for inductance.
5) Outputs are 0.1A fuse protected. Maximum recommended operating current not to exceed 80mA. Short circuit currents in excess of 80mA may damage the device.
6) Explosion proof, may be installed in a hazardous location as part of an existing explosion proof system.
