Light source characterization goniometer system
SIG-500™
Radiant Imaging
The Radiant Imaging SIG-500™ is a fully automated, computer-controlled goniometric system designed to meet the needs of designers and manufacturers of large light sources and luminaires. In particular, the SIG-500 is a low-cost option for applications where the source is not required to be fixed with respect to gravity, as with some arc lamps, but rather can be held horizontally and rotated with respect to gravity. The SIG-500 uses a PM-Series™ Imaging Colorimeter or Photometer to capture an accurate model of a light source's near-field output. This SIG also differs from other models in that the imaging colorimeter is stationary and not attached to the goniometer, making it easy to use the colorimeter for other standalone measurements. The image data and the Radiant Source Model™ generated from it provide a complete and precise characterization of the light source output, which can be used for design evaluation and imported into any major optical design package to allow accurate design of lighting systems.
