The Wi.DP1203-915-EVM-R™ module is a development module for our Wi.DP1203-915-R™ embedded radio module. The module comes with an antenna circuit with reverse polarity non-standard (RPSMA) connectors, a 4-15 VDC voltage regulator, and a Silicon Lab C8051F310 microcontroller running evaluation software. The module is pin compatible with the Radiotronix family of EVM and FCC certified radio modules.

The Wi.DP1203-915-EVM-R™ is based on the high performance Semtech XE1203F transceiver IC. The module supports two modes of operation: wide-band and narrow-band. In wide-band mode, the channel width is 600kHz and in narrow-band mode the channel width is 200kHz.The module is configured via a simple SPI style serial interface. Data is transmitted and received using a separate digital serial interface that includes pre-amble and start-of-packet detection. All Radiotronix Wi.DP1203™ module products are designed to replace Semtech DP1203 family of products directly with no changes.

Maximum transmit power is +15dBm. Maximum receive sensitivity is -111dBm. Receive sensitivity at the maximum baud rate is -103dBm typical. The transmitter draws 53mA typical at +15dBm. The receiver draws 14mA typical.

Footprint compatible versions are offered in 868-870 MHz Wi.DP1203-868-R™ (Europe) and 433-435Mhz, Wi.DP1203-433-R™ (Worldwide) This EVM can be used like a Wi.232DTS-R™/EUR-R™ module in the Wi.™ evaluation board.
