Slide bearings for the shipbuilding industry have a long tradition at RENK. As early as in the 50ies of the last century the first marine shaft bearings were manufactured at the Hanover plant. Nowadays a vast variety of slide bearings is offered. In addition to the classic marine shaft bearings, RENK Hanover Works supplies thrust blocks, propulsion motor and generator bearings, bearings for electrical machines, special-purpose bearings, bearing shells and thrust pads for gearboxes.
Cruise liners and ferries, drilling platform supply vessels, harbour, polar and atomic ice breakers, submarines, frigates and aircraft carriers: They all have RENK bearings "on board".
