Description

The Atmospheric Consistometer is used for conditioning cement slurries as specified within API Specification 10. Determination of rheological properties, examination of free water content, and valuation of the API fluid loss test all require that the cement slurry be pre-conditioned by an Atmospheric Consistometer. Thickening Time Tests Thickening time of a slurry is calculated to determine the time required to mix and pump the slurry. Mixing time for the volume is estimated from calculated slurry volume and mixing rate. Mixing rate varies from rig to rig, and is dependent on slurry design. Safety time is allowed to account for any shut down or slow mixing rates that may inadvertently occur. Atmospheric Consistometer Model RCA-1250 Specifically designed to prepare cement slurries for the testing of various parameters in strict compliance with API Specification 10A/ISO 10426-1:2000 Clause 8 of API Specification 10A outlines the requirements and provides the procedure for conducting the Free-fluid Test (free water) using the Model RCA_1250 Atmospheric Consistometer. The testing of cement slurries requires the measurement of thickening time, free water content, viscosity, rheological properties, fluid loss and various other properties. The Model RCA_1250 Atmospheric Consistometer provides a simple method for conditioning the cement slurries in preparation for performing these tests. This instrument is used in laboratories involved in oil well cement research programs, research and testing of cement additives, cement manufacturers quality assurance programs, and in the research for well servicing companies and their field labs.
