RKB indexing roller units are basically double row full complement cylindrical roller bearings that can accomodate very heavy radial loads. Three integral flanges in the very thick-walled outer ring, guide the two roller sets axially. A loose flange ring on both sides of the inner ring provides axial guidance for the outer ring via the roller sets.
The indexing roller units incorporate spiral retaining rings on both sides. The spiral rings are inserted into grooves in the shoulders of the loose flange rings and the outer ring, making the bearing a non-separable unit. Also, these rings prevent contaminants from entering the bearing and lubricating grease from escaping.
The inner ring is in two halves and the inner diameter can vary from 50 to 130mm.
Indexing roller units were originally developed for use on the continuous furnaces of sintering and pelletising plants. These ready-to-mount units are also suitable for all applications where heavy loads have to be accommodated and the direction of rotation is frequently reversed, or where rotational speeds are low.
