Rotor Tester for Squirrel Cage Rotors
This new rotor test system was specifically designed to find damages and quality defects in squirrel cage rotors. It brings a new level of performance in testing rotors outside of the stator. Type and place of the fault can easily be determined. The system will also work on very large rotors.
For testing a pair of sensors, one excitation and one measuring sensor, is placed on the surface of the rotor over one bar. Four sensor types are available to fit the various rotor sizes. The pair of sensors is moved from one bar to the next, checking for broken bars, cracks, blowholes and bad connections. Problems in the endrings can also be detected.
The test signal in the model RT1 is displayed on the integrated high-performance digital oscilloscope. The compact and low-cost version model RT1A contains only a digital meter, but an external oscilloscope can easily be connected.
The output of the tester is low voltage so that there is no danger for the user or the rotor.
