Photoelectric sensorROHM photointerrupter that detects all types of movement
Double-Molded Structure for High Reliability A photointerrupter is a light beam-operated switch that detects the presence of objects that pass between face-to-face mounted emitter / receiver elements when the light beam is blocked. Unlike a mechanical switch, a photointerrupter operates without physical contact so deterioration of contact areas are not a concern. ROHM's photointerrupter incorporates an emitter element and receiver element that have been molded separately as individual sensor elements (primary molding) to achieve high sensor reliability. These elements are then molded into the interrupter unit (secondary molding). This double-molded system ensures higher reliability. |
