A Plano-Convex lens is a convergent or positive lens with one flat side and is thicker in the center than at the edges. Aberrations are at a minimum when used with parallel incident light as shown. Typical applications are: eyepieces, magnifiers, condenser systems, inexpensive microscopes, etc.
