Technical Features
The one-piece bed casting is a heavily ribbed cell-like structure of
stabilized Meehanite cast-iron, having on its upper side plain and V
guideways (Drwg. A).
* The work-table, which is made of stabilized Meehanite cast iron, slides
on guideways which are coated with antifriction material, thus
guaranteeing a low-friction coefficient.
* The column, which is rigidly fixed to the machine base, is double
tubular structure made of Meehanite cast iron; its vertical and plain
V guideways for the cross-rail are ground (Drwg. B.).
* The crossrail, which is made of Meehanite cast-iron, is supported on
the column by means of hardened and ground gibs; it slides, vertically
on the column by means of front guideways which are coated
with synthetic antifriction material (Drwg. C).
* The cross slide for the wheel spindle unit runs on the vertical guideways
of the crossrail. The wheel spindle unit is supported by
means of ground and hardened steel gibs. The adjustment is carried
out through opposed taper adjusting blocks, which are coated
with synthetic antifriction material.
* The wheel spindle unit, which is of interchangeable cartridge type,
is assembled on opposed angular ball-bearings.
The cooling is carried out through an electric fan (Drwg. D).
* The work table has a reciprocate movement for the longitudinal feeding
produced by two opposing, hydraulic cylinders, insulated with
a special material used in the aerospace industry. The table traverse
speed can be programmed and adjusted gradually and continuously
through a potentiometer directly from the control unit.
* CN/CNC interface electric plant manufactured with components of
leading firms.
