Offset printing with removable sleeves is a technology allowing jobs in various offset formats. The sleeve technology makes the format change easy just by removing the plaque and rubber sleeves, thus avoiding paper break. Not only is it easier and quicker, it is also a more economic way to print in various formats. With this new technology, only two light sleeves have to be changed. The sleeve technology, which greatly contributed to the development of flexo printing, is today a reality of the offset world. One the main advantage of the Universal, not mentioning the flexibility of format change and the swiftness of job change, is the inferior cost of the plaques compared to the cost of cliché in flexo and of the roller in gravure. Moreover, the printing quality of the Universal is similar to the one obtained with gravure printing. Thanks to low production costs and fast delivery of the sleeves, short print runs too are more profitable. Its very short manufacturing time of any new type of format allows a huge flexibility. The ergonomic design and the use of light sleeves on the Universal make extremely quick job changes possible. The Universal press offers a complete solution for the different applications, thanks to the development of a new EB dryer which produces very few odors.
