Self-regulating heating cables have a heat output that depends on the temperature: the highly engineered resistive core reduces heat output as temperature rises, and vice-versa. These cables are available with either tinned-copper or stainless-steel braid as a protection against mechanical shocks. Typical applications include: defrosting; reaching and maintaining temperature in pipelines; keeping temperature constant in chemical processes; protecting roofs, ramps, stairways, etc.
