HIGH FREQUENCY HARDENING
So as to increase a steel hardness, it is heated and quenched in a liquid : this is hardening. Now, obtained hardness is uniform on all the product. High frequency superficial hardening consists in making hard a precise part of an item, notably of nose and edges, heating it with high frequency alternative power, then suddenly quenching it with under pressure water. Item's heart remains cold and keeps all its elasticity, so its effort resistance. By this way, hardened surface gets harder and, above all, wear and tiredness resistance are strengthened.
