Flux-cored wire is the rising star in welding industry. Process includes steel belt cutting, tube forming, and rolling. Cemented carbide has great wear resistance and a lower friction surface which makes it extremely compatible for high speed machinery.
Case Description

The tools used in this application before were steel tools. So quickly customers have proven that cemented carbide is a much more suitable material, that has higher wear resistance and can easily resist surface friction, with less damage to the tool. That way, customers increase their productivity of flux cored wire with a high tool lifetime. A second challenge that Sandvik has been able to solve successfully, is related to the surface roughness and geometries, where the solution and product supplied has increased performance on production.
