Breathing air humidifier

Pneumatic equipment is operated with purified and dried compressed air, which represents an extreme charge for the user of breathing masks during permanent use. Dry and cold compressed air causes dry mucous membranes, which may lead to becoming prone to catching a cold.

In accordance with the DIN directives and physiological and medical aspects, breathing air at the workplace ("IAO") must have the following characteristics:

- Free from dust (DIN 3188)
- Free from harmful gases and vapours
- Free from smell
- Temperature between 20 - 24° C
- Relative humididy between 30 - 70 %
- Air flow speed max. 0.15 m/sec.

In order to achieve an optimum painting result, the compressed air used for painting is filtered, dried and, stripped of oil remainders as far as possible. The compressed air thus purified does not comply with the aforementioned requirements and must therefore be further purified for use with supplied air breathing masks.

The breathing air humidifyer AB1 operated with compressed air (spray air) supplies breathing air complying with all requirements.

Basically, it consists of two functional groups for securing the working conditions of users of supplied air breathing masks:

1. Fine filter and activated charcoal cartridge as well as adjustable pressure regulator
- Purification of the compressed air to obtain breathing air
- Exact adjustment of the breathing air network pressure
2. Air warmer and air humidification unit
- Gradual warming of the breathing air for a pleasant climate
- Increase of the breathing air humidity to approx. 40% relative humidity
