Scania’s 9-litre engines have been providing sterling service in marine applications for many years, with a tried and tested design and offering up to 450 hp depending on configuration.
The latest generation is equipped with DEC2 – Scania’s digital system for electronic monitoring and control of the engine. The benefits are reduced risk of overloading and the possibility of pre-programming torque curves.
Like all Scania engines, they have a hot side for exhaust gases and a cold side for intake air, which promotes better combustion and enhanced performance.
