The Schmersal AZS failsafe delay timer provides the ability to preset time securely. The control system’s signal lets the guard device open only once the current time has elapsed. The AZS range failsafe delay times are commonly used in situations that are considered extremely dangerous, often once a machine/plant is turned off, for example, when run down movements occur. There are different external circuit combinations that determine how the protection system will be secured, and this has been tested according to the Control Category 3 to EN 954-1 requirement combined with an AES/AZR range safety monitoring module. The safety monitoring module has two redundant channels, each with a microprocessor with coding switches.
