Electromechanical balancing system
Schmitt Europe
The SBS internal balancer is the perfect solution for grinding machines where the balancing head needs to be "out of the way". It is similar in function to the SBS external balancer, but designed to fit inside the grinding spindle, in a bore supplied by the machine builder.
The compensating weights are designed with an "over and under" configuration which eliminates dynamic couple when the balance weights are positioned under the wheel, yet make use of all available space to generate as much capacity usually only available in "side by side" weight configurations.
The standard internal balancer mounting is achieved with a mounting flange, which bolts to the spindle. Other arrangements are available. Contact SBS for information.
Energy transmission can be achieved from either a remote unit mounted at the pulley end, or a balancer-mounted transmitter. As with the external balancer, the SBS internal balancer is available with a maintenance free SBS collector or with a non-contact system and is able to accommodate an integrated AEMS sensor.
