The product comprises of a detection rod and control box. It tests on cross arm indicated at ground level on electronic unit. The cable from the test rod is insulated for 9ft at 15kV and as it is screened, it does not cause interference with the unit.
Tests can be performed automatically and a simple pass/fail indicator appears on the LCD screen.
The CARL 1000 is safe to use even in direct contact with energised systems and all cables are fully detachable.
