R220.99 is a member of the square shoulder family. It is a universal cutter for slotting, contouring and face milling operations in ordinary steel (up to about 300HB) easier stainless steels and cast iron.
These square inserts (SONX) provide four usable edges and, therefore, more for your money. By a special design on a square insert, a 90 degree setting angle is obtained without weakening the side cutting edge.
