These machines are used to separate solid or semi-solid parts mixed in the liquid. If necessary, the separated part can be compacted by a compactor modulus placed at the upper end that allows a volume reduction up to 40%.
As shown in the figure below, these machines consist of a shaftless screw conveyor connected to a screen at the lower end.
The parameters used to define the machine are H (the depth of the channel or tank), and L (the width of the channel or tank).
Usually the screen mesh size ranges from 0.25 mm to 5 mm, different sizes being possible.
The machine can be provided with its tank for special applications.

* Screw: the material can be high strength carbon steel or stainless steel aisi 304 or 316.
* Structure: stainless steel Aisi 304 or aisi 316.
* Length: it depends on the diameter of the screw and on the liquid to be treated.
