Custom electrical connector
Servometer
Servometer manufactures many specialty electroforms, waveguides and radiation shields (or cold shields) which normal electroforming companies cannot produce. Our custom electroforms can be made with unusual shapes, miniature sizes, and close tolerances. They are extremely lightweight with a rugged, structural rigidity. Electroforms commonly replace plastic components that lack the tensile strength and machined components that are too heavy. Servometer electroforms are produced by electrodepositing a thin layer of a nickel alloy onto an machined aluminium mandral, then chemically dissolving the aluminum, leaving behind the electroformed component to the desired thickness.
Servometer has perfected this electroforming process since its inception in 1957 while producing millions of metal bellows, using the same technique. Servometer can supply electroforms, which range from 0.020 in. to 8 in. cross section. Larger parts are possible, for certain geometries. Typically, Servometer electroforms are a high-strength nickel-alloy, but copper, silver and gold are also available as a complete part, with lamina, or a surface finish. Mirror finishes and low reflectance coatings can be provided as required. Servometer has patented processes to combine layers of materials for applications that require different media compatibility or reflective finishes in internal or external surfaces.
Round and rectangular flexible waveguides are manufactured using the electroforming process. Electroforms can withstand extreme cold temperature for aerospace and satellite systems.
