MEMS accelerometer
±0.5 - ±5.0 g, >±1 mg | A700 series
Sherborne Sensors Limited
Sherborne Sensors A700 series is a family of high-precision MEMS-based (variable capacitive) solid state accelerometers, designed to measure single or dual axis vector acceleration, in applications where space is limited.
Available in ranges from ±0.5 g to ±5.0 g, A700 series accelerometers feature an advanced MEMS sensor, incorporating air damping, enabling the transducer to reliably perform over a very wide temperature range. They are fully compensated for the effects of temperature on both sensitivity and zero. The A700 series also incorporates positive mechanical stops in a lightweight (less than 50g) durable aluminum alloy package, conferring excellent shock resistance, and providing reliable over-ranging protection. DC response capabilities of the A700 series facilitate exceptional measurement accuracy. The series is designed to operate from an unregulated DC power source, and offer self-test feature on both axes.
A700 series accelerometers are supplied with an integral shielded sensor cable with built-in strain relief, attached to the sensor case, with an optional electrical connector. An available A700 series -0101 model variant incorporates a temperature sensor, which enables each unit to be individually characterized over its operational temperature range. A supplied characteristic error correction equation helps minimize measurement uncertainties due to zero offset, sensitivity error and linearity, thermal zero and thermal sensitivity shift. By entering equation coefficients into the host operating software, cost-effective, precision measurements, with accuracies better than ± 1milli g, may be achieved.
