The vector-controlled frequency converter FC71 is conceived for machine tools used for most complex tasks such as positioning, hard threading and tool changing within the power range of 20 - 150 kVA. Due to the controlled output filter, the frequency converter generates pure sinusoidal currents / sinusoidal voltages with frequencies up to 2,500 Hz. Thus, losses of the motor are minimized and the maximum lifetime of the spindle is prolonged. The productivity of the machine in contrast to conventional drive solutions can be considerably raised due to the obvious increase of power during the field weakening operation.
