AS-Interface is an open, vendor-independent bus system. Actuators and sensors are connected to the controller via an unshielded 2-wire line – which simultaneously transfers data and power. The basis of each system comprises the master and a power supply unit, as well as various standard and safe slaves. The AS-i power supply units supply slaves and sensors in the network with power. In small applications with a range up to 50 m, already-present 24 V power supply units (SITOP) can be used in connection with data decoupling modules (AS-i Power24V).
