The modular terminal concept combines a graphic capable
display with full configurable keys and a snap on PLC. Having
a graphic terminal, CPU and I/Os in a single unit - this is a
space saving and cost effective solution for machine automation.
With a resolution of 128 x 64 pixels, the full graphic monochrome
LC display offers a high degree of display comfort. In
addition to the display of bars, trends and bitmaps, text can
also be written in Unicode (Cyrillic, Asiatic, etc.).
The CET 281 has 28 programmable keys that can also be
labeled; 8 of which are equipped with an LED.
On the reverse side of the new terminal, the
C-DIAS PLC modules can be simply snapped on. Next to the
CPU are additional spaces for up to 4 modules. All C-DIAS
modules can be used as e.g. different analog and digital I/O
modules, NC modules, transsonar-displacment measurement
modules as well as interface modules.
An expansion of the I/Os is also possible.

The ET 281 is a non-intelligent terminal, which serves the visualization of automated processes. Conrol, process diagnosis, as well as operation and monitoring of automated workflow are simplified using this terminal. A keypad with 28 keys serves as the input for process data and parameters. The output is shown on a LC display. Operating states are displayed through LEDs.
