Balinit Alcrona G6 coated carbide end mill

The range of the cutting end mills, which has been introduced by Silmax in the new catalogue Carbide 2004, includes now a new coating, produced by Balzers and called BALINIT ALCRONA. This pushes the tools to hitherto unknown performance limits: they are absolutely more resistant to oxidation (up to 1100 C°) and have a markedly greater hot hardness than conventional coatings. This also means they are stable even under extremely high thermal load and generally perform better.
Several cutting tests on steels (800 N/mm 2 - 1200 N/mm 2 ) as well as on Stainless Steels have been carried out by Silmax and datas have been assembled by our R&D Dptm. of Lanzo Torinese in order to test the new performances and the reliability of this new coating.
