Long service-life, high tightness
The principle: CASCO™ sealing elements and their contact faces are integrated in a cartridge (cassette). In their working position, the cassette warrants best sealing effect even under the most difficult of conditions, such as dynamic axial play, radial imbalance and aging of lubricants. Therefore, the crankshaft seal warrants great tightness against escaping lubricants and introduction of dirt particles. In contrast to many other seals, the main lip is also resistant to axial load. Therefore, the performance loss of CASCO™ is 60% lower than in other construction concepts. The degree of friction is very low even at surface speeds of up to 23 m/s, significantly minimising wear. The seal therefore reaches a service life of more than 1,600,000 km. At the same time, CASCO™ reduces the overall costs for the sealing system, as do other cassette seals.
