Electronic pressure switch for centralized lubrication unit
DSC series SKF Lubrication Systems Germany AG

Measurement and inspection of the pressure in centralized lubrication systems is one of the most important issues when evaluating how efficiently a system is operating.

Changes and fluctuations in pressure during an operating cycle in a centralized lubrication system can be used to diagnose system function.

In centralized lubrication system with piston distributors pressure build-up, pressure level and pressure release are the most important indicators of reliable operation.

A visual check of the pressure changes can be done by analogue pressure gauge.

Pressure switches are used for automatic monitoring. In contrast to pressure gauges with analogue displays, only one signal is displayed when a specific pressure value has been reached.

Pressure switches with a piezo-resistive sensor element have two or more signal outputs. The magnitude of the switching pressure can be adjusted by programming the device.

Pressure switches can normally be used for lubricants, oil and fluid grease. When greases are used, specific models are called for (piston pressure switches whose design prevents grease hardening near the in-take). Differential pressure switches are used in dual-line centralized lubrication systems.

Pressure transmitters
Pressure transmitters are used for control and monitoring of automatic lubrication system. Pressure transmitters are installed in the end of main line. They measure pressure of passing lubricant and the information is transmitted to the control center which controls pressure build-up, pressure level and pressure release. Pressure transmitters can be used in single and dual line lubrication systems.
